In the a-helix, for example, the protein chain, originally kinetically free,
is arranged to form one turn of the helix, allowing the formation of one
H-bond. But with two turns of the helix, four H-bonds are formed; with three
turns, eight H-bonds are formed; with n turns, the number of H-bonds formed
is [3.6n~2.6], or the integer just below this number.
