Dear drifter,
How were you in these days?
Thanks for your letter and photo.
The snowflakes fell on the trees peacefully, how wonderful!
It's a pity that Taipei is a never-snowing city.
But your picture satisfied my imagination about the landscape of snow.
Today is the last day of 2004.
I think visiting China is the most unforgettable experience of this year.
After this trip, I found I was the narrow-minded frog in the well.
Fortunately, I met you and other friends in China.
You guys broadened my view of watching the world. Thank you.
My recent situation is a little complicated.
Anyway, I'm adjusting my steps
and finding the balance between jobs and studies.
Undeniable, I'm not a little girl anymore
so need working (money…) to support my life and confidence.
But I believe everything will turn for the better.
The year-end should be the happiest time,
but we heard some sorrowful news recently.
One of my classmates committed suicide before Xmas.
Then the disasters about earthquakes and tsunamis
in South Asia made people sad.
Sometimes I feel I am so insignificantly and powerless
because all I can do is limited.
But you are different.
I think people in Indonesia and Sri Lanka just need the professionals like you
to help them to improve the environments and rebuild their homelands.
If you got the opportunity of helping them, just do it!
Tonight, under the highest building in the world,
I'll celebrate the New Year with strangers.
No matter where will you be and whom will you stay with,
wish you a whole new year.
Everything will go well and smoothly for you!
Jing
