和它相對應的字 (反義字) 要一起看 nidicolous (a) 孵出後在巢中住一段時期的
字源來自拉丁字根 nidi (nest 巢) + fug (flee 離開) + ous (形容詞尾)
對應字 nidicolous 是 nidi (nest) + col (live or grow) + ous (形容詞尾)
學這兩個字的用意不是字的本身，而是字根的好處
了解字根就明白此二字的意思了
fug- (flee) 字根相當常見，一定要記牢
nidi- (nest) 和 col- (live or grow) 就量力而為囉
再學文中另外補充的兩個字
precocial (a) 剛孵出便能立即活動的
altricial (a) 孵出後須母鳥照顧的
(這兩個字也是反義字)
裡頭也有字根
pre- (before)，precocial 相當於 premature
altr- (other)，幼鳥無法照顧自己，需要 "他" 鳥來照顧
還有一個字叫 ornithology (n) 鳥類學 要背啊
字根 ornitho- (bird)
萬一考出 "鳥類學 : 鳥 :: 魚類學 : 魚" 這種送分題你還拿不到，就搞笑了...
