[問題] 請問一下期刊註腳內的說明 (18 USC Sec 1734)

期刊內註腳除了說明資金來源和通訊作者的聯絡方式之外，通常還有類似下列的一段文字： The payment of page charges defrayed in part the costs of publication of this article, which must therefore be marked "advertisement" in accordance with 18 USC Section 1734 我去查了該法條在 Crimes and crimal procedure (Title 18) 裡頭的 Chapter 83 法條如下： http://www.washingtonwatchdog.org/documents/usc/ttl18/ptI/ch83/sec1734.html Sec. 1734. Editorials and other matter as ''advertisements'' Whoever, being an editor or publisher, prints in a publication entered as second class mail, editorial or other reading matter for which he has been paid or promised a valuable consideration, without plainly marking the same ''advertisement'' shall be fined under this title. L. 103-322, title XXXIII, Sec. 330016(1)(G), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2147.) 對照起期刊的註腳看起來，其說明似乎是說，經由收費方式而刊登的出版品要特別標明 "廣告" 字樣，不然要罰最高 500 美金以下的罰款。不過有些期刊卻沒有這樣的說明，不知道這段文字說明的真正意思是什麼？如果我的認知沒有錯誤的話，那期刊也算是廣告的一種囉？XD -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.127.160.142
