** HMC 2013 Call for Papers **
*********************************
HMC'13 will take place during International Symposium on Embedded Multicore
SoCs (MCSoC-13), Tokyo, Japan, September 26-28, 2013
http://embedded.cs.ccu.edu.tw/~hmc2013/
*Workshop Overview
Nowadays, heterogeneous computing systems (HCS) equipped with multicore
processors and accelerators are becoming more and more pervasive such as the
popular CPU-GPU integration found in systems ranging from mobile devices to
supercomputers. This growing trend is forcing programmers to address issues
and challenges in adapting legacy serial programs into heterogeneous parallel
programs. One of the most critical issues occurs in how applications are
mapped and scheduled in HCS so as to satisfy performance and power
constraints. A recent trend is to work on the distribution of the
computational workload in applications on HCS, including task partitioning,
auto-tuning of platform parameters, task migration, to list a few.
*Topics of Interest
Papers are solicited in the following areas of the design of multicore CPU
and many-core GPU computing systems, but are not limited to:
‧ Heterogeneous Platform Scheduling and Mapping
‧ Algorithms for Scheduling and Mapping Problems
‧ Load Balancing
‧ Scheduling and Mapping Workload Modeling
‧ Communication Optimization
‧ Hybrid Parallel Programming for Multi-core CPU/Many-core GPU
‧ Multi-core CPU/Many-core GPU Applications
‧ Compiler Optimization for Multi-core CPU/Many-core GPU
‧ Power Efficiency Optimization
‧ Fault Tolerance
*Important Dates
Submission of Papers: March 31, 2013
Notification of Acceptance: May 15, 2013
Camera-Ready Papers: June 15, 2013
HMC'13: September 26-28, 2013
*Submission
Papers should be prepared according to the IEEE CS format, with no more than
8 pages. Also, papers in PDF format must be submitted via Easy Chair by the
following link:
https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=mcsoc13
Each submitted paper will be reviewed by at least three reviewers and will be
evaluated in terms of originality, relevance to workshop topics,
organization, and quality of technique and presentation. Submission of a
paper implies that at least one of the authors will have a full registration
to the symposium upon acceptance of the paper. Proceedings of symposium will
be published by IEEE Computer Society Press.
