[資訊] CFP: Workshop on Data Mining in Biomed
Workshop on Data Mining in Biomedical informatics and Healthcare
-- In conjunction with the 18th Pacific-Asia Conference
on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (PAKDD 2014)
When: May 13, 2014
Where: Tainan, Taiwan
Web: http://pakdd2014.pakdd.org/
Mining biological, biomedical, and health data is an emerging
research area at the intersection between biology and data mining.
As genomic sequencing generation, electronic medical record
utilization, and other large-scale data has increased exponentially
in recent years, the biomedical informatics fields are undergoing
an important stage with new breakthroughs on dealing with
dramatically increased information in terms of size and complexity.
Research that bridges the latest multimodal measurement technologies
with large amounts of electronic healthcare data is increasing.
The workshop aims to provide a forum for data miners, informaticians
and clinical researchers to share novel findings on their latest
investigations in applying data mining techniques to biomedical and
healthcare data. The broader context of the workshop comprehends
artificial intelligence, information retrieval, machine learning,
and natural language processing. Submissions are invited to address
the need for developing novel methods to mine, summarize and
integrate the huge volume and diverse modalities of the structured
and unstructured biomedical and healthcare data that can potentially
lead to significant advances in the field. This workshop will aim to
provide research methodologies and tools on managing, analyzing,
visualizing, and extracting information from large, diverse,
complex, longitudinal, and/or distributed biological and biomedical
data sets.

Submission Information
Paper submission system is at
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=dmbh2014
We call for original and unpublished research contributions of
manuscripts to the workshop following the Springer LNCS/LNAI
manuscript submission guidelines
(available at http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html).
Each submitted paper should include an abstract up to 200 words and
be no longer than 12 single-spaced pages with 10pt font size. All
papers must be submitted electronically through the paper submission
system in PDF format only. The submitted paper should NOT adhere to
the double-blind review policy.
Each accepted paper is required at least a workshop registration
regardless of the status of the registered author. One of the
authors (or a qualified substitute) must give a presentation of the
paper at the workshop.
Accepted Papers
Selected papers will be included in LNCS/LNAI post Proceedings of
PAKDD Workshops.
Selected papers will be invited for extension to be included in a
special issue for BioData Mining with impact factor 1.76 and PubMed
index (http://www.biodatamining.org/). Publication fee waiver prize
will be given to two best papers based on review committee's
recommendation.
Selected papers can go either option listed above.
