Dr. Wan-Ting (Grace) Chen is seeking PhD students and visiting scholars/students to join her group in Department of Plastic Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. About the Principal Investigator: Dr. Chen will join the University of Massachusetts Lowell as an assistant professor in Fall 2018. Grace received her B.Sc in Chemical Engineering from the National Taiwan University, M.S. and Ph.D. in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of Illinois. Grace’s PhD research work focused on developing a synergistically integrated waste-to-fuel system that simultaneously produces biofuel and treats wet biowaste via algae growth and hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL). Grace’s ongoing work focuses on valorization of plastic waste into useful products, including pristine polymers, fuels, specialty chemicals, and monomers. Grace has an h-index of 12 and has published 17 papers, 1 book chapter, and 33 conference presentations.
