趁寒假補上去年的SOP撰寫心得，雖然有點晚，分享出來供需要的人參考 SOP撰寫心得 http://ppt.cc/44T- 申請學校SOP很重要。成績不頂尖的我，百思不得其解為何我會錄取。進去後才知道，我寫的Career goal正好和該校的強項相關(正中!)。好的SOP帶你進學術殿堂! 完整心得分享請前往連結，以 PPT檔呈現是想特別強調”experience/ characteristics”, “ career goal” and “program”之間的關聯，這個是第一次寫容易被忽略，卻是讓文章連貫、凸顯自己特色的關鍵，請享用:) A brief look is as following. Key points ◎Realize the program you apply as well as your prior experience/ characteristics and your career goal. ◎ Give a detailed description of your prior experience/ characteristics, career goal and the program. I.e. summary a fact about the strength of the program or the strength of yourself rather than write down adjectives ◎ Write from the past to the future ◎ Distinguish yourself from others ★Do describe your prior experience/ characteristics with details ★ prior experience/ characteristics about 50%; the program and career goal about 50% ★Do realize the program you apply as much as possible. I.e. their research fields, curriculum and features/ strength. This can determine whether you’re qualified for the program, whether it can help with your future career, and most importantly, whether you ’re admitted. ◎ Arrangement of paragraphs (1) Introduction:引人入勝的主題(言簡意賅) (2) Experience/ characteristics motivation 大學修相關課or為了要念這領域, 做了哪些事情 (3) Program you apply(為什麼要念這間) (4)Future---career goal (5) Conclusion--總結並強調本身優勢，表明已經做好準備去念研究所(字數和第一段差不多) ★Comment: Avoid emphasizing your poor grades (if applicable), but it’s recommended to provide an explanation of the poor grades in one sentence.
