[情報] Ph.D. position at University of He
Dear Colleagues,
We are looking for a DOCTORAL STUDENT to work with exhaled breath analysis
at the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry, University of Helsinki.
An opportunity is offered for a graduate (Ph.D.) student to work on medical
and toxicological applications of breath analysis in the Laboratory of
Physical Chemistry, Department of Chemistry, University of Helsinki, Finland.
Analytical tools such as infrared laser spectroscopy will be used for
quantitative gas phase analysis of human exhaled breath. The position is
available for three years starting from February 2012, the exact starting
date being open for negotiation. The salary is based on the university
salary system and depends on personal skills and the advancement of the
graduate studies.
The successful candidate has studied in physical chemistry, analytical
chemistry, physics, medicine or a related field. Independent of the
background, the candidate should have a strong interest in applying
physical and chemical analytical techniques to problems in life sciences.
He/she holds a Master’s degree or equivalent and has both the motivation
and abilities to successfully carry out postgraduate studies. Keen interest
in the research topic and practical experience in experimental laboratory
research are appreciated. While initiative and the ability to perform
independently are encouraged, the student is also closely supported and
supervised by the research group. Good English language skills are required.
We will provide the graduate student a chance to develop a deep understanding
of the emerging field of breath analysis and gain practical experience in
analytical laser spectroscopy. The group has excellent experimental facilities
at the largest university in Finland. The Laboratory of Physical Chemistry is
located in the new Kumpula science campus area in Helsinki.
