Job title: Research Fellow
Description
An application for a research fellow position is welcome. The selected
candidate will work closely with the professor(s) at the National University
of Singapore (NUS) in NUS Business School and the Department of Industrial
Systems Engineering and Management (ISEM) on exciting, cutting-edge research
projects on innovation and technology management, knowledge worker mobility,
culture and entrepreneurship, especially in emerging economies like China and
ASEAN. The candidate should have advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in
management/business, strategy, policy, sociology, economics or related
fields. He/she should ideally have good programming/coding skills such as
SQL, Python and/or Java and be familiar with statistical packages like STATA
or R (STATA preferred) and statistics. Skill and experience with economic
modelling and statistical analyses are preferred. Familiarity with data
mining and computation techniques, especially in the context of patents,
publications, citations and networks is a plus. The candidate should be
proficient in English and have working knowledge of Mandarin Chinese
(conversational and reading) as many of the research documents and websites
are in Mandarin Chinese. The compensation is internationally competitive
which includes the standard health and insurance benefits provided by NUS.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in management/business, strategy, policy, sociology,
economics, social science, or other related fields is desired. Prior
experience as a post-doctorate or faculty in these related field is a plus.
Prior experience working on relevant research projects in an academic or
industry setting is a plus. Working knowledge of mandarin Chinese
(conversational and reading) is helpful as many of the research documents and
websites are in Mandarin Chinese.
