The problem that you have was also my problem when I prepared for my graduate
school entrance exam. As you mentioned, you can't concentrate on your studies
when you sit down in front of your computer. I can tell you the truth. Up to
now, I still can't concentrate on studies in front of computers. Therefore, I
suggest you study in a place where there is nothing attracting you except
books. For example, there is a reading room which we called "K-room"(K館) in
my school. There are only desks, chairs, and newspapers in this place. I can
be single-minded in this place so that I am a graduate student now.^^
I believe that you can find your "k-room".
In my opinion, preparing for entrance exam of graduate school is a long-term
competition. You can study 5 hours every day rather than 10 hours every other
day. Studying for all day long is not efficient. In my experience, it's
acceptable to study 8 hours a day.
