Perhaps you were taken advantaged of before, and was hurt with infidelity,
that's why you don't want to give and love completely.
You said people should be a bit selfish in order to survive.
You said we should put our own advantage in first priority and secure our
own future first.
Maybe you are right, and more sophisticated, but I just feel very tired
because I am not that kind of person.
In this world, different people hold different believes and value systems.
Perhaps our value systems overlap for the majority, but still, there are some
aspects that are irreconcilable. I am confused now and don't know if we can
solve the problem together. Why should I stay in the US for a unreliable guy?

I tried to be decent, as that are what my parents taught me.

Hm...maybe we have different standards and definitions of being nice/in love.
I am having too high expectations, due to my upbringing/background.
Don't know if this is the so-called cultural differences between
mainland China and Taiwan.
