How long have you been learning English?
I have been learning English for more than 20 years. I started learning it
when I was in kindergarten.
What does English mean to you? What do you like about it?
English is a world language. It is impossible to survive in the business field
if one cannot master the language. Knowing English gives me greater exposure
to literature, science and humanities. Being able to speak English also helps
when I am traveling abroad.
Any tips about learning English?
Read extensively. Be alert in pronunciation and grammar.
Look for opportunities to use the language proactively (for example, talk to
your friends in proper English on msn, write a blog entry in English every
week)
Any other information about yourself?
I live in Hong Kong and I work in an English-speaking environment.
Even though I have learned English for many years, I am still not able to
master it effectively. My writing skills are yet to be polished. One of my
life-long learning goals is to be proficient in English, not only for basic
communication, but to use it as if it is my mother tongue.
For friends who share the same goal with me, let's work hard together.
