The Most Attractive Place In Taiwan Taiwanese are always proud of addressing Taiwan island as a “island of treasure” since you can find a great deal of species of animals and plants ,some of which were only discovered in Taiwan and is full of natural beauties because the topography of Taiwan island changes greatly from high mountains to oceans across different climate zones. Among those attractions and landscapes, I believe that “Hualien” is the most remarkable I should recommend to people from all over the world. Downtown Hualien, which should always be tourists first stop in eastern Taiwan,is a small yet relatively prosper and leisure city. Even though it is comparatively populated urban area among eastern Taiwan, it is definitely not such a rush city where people always in a hurry. However, it is a city for tourists to relax their bodies and ease their mind. When holiday comes, Hualien City is always full of people coming from every part of Taiwan, even overseas. compared with its small size of city, you still can find either fancy modern restaurants or traditional food stands there. Most of them are busy all the time and people always wait in a queue in front of the stores, especially during the summer vacation. Although there are loads of attractive tourist spots and cultural heritage for people to visit, I think that Taroko national park and anything to do with Taiwanese aboriginals are the most fantastic two parts you should never miss at all. It is well-known that there are more than ten aboriginal tribes in Taiwan, who usually live in mountains and most low-developed areas in Taiwan. Among them, there are at least four different tribes settling in Hualien. Taiwanese aboriginals are famous for their traditional handicrafts, clothes, and music. They are optimistic and hospitable, also good at singing. Due to the lack of employment opportunities and population immigration, many of them live a inferior life compared with average citizens living standard. Luckily, owing to governments assistance and folks promotion and education, their life is getting better and better and many cultural activities, like the harvest festival, have become part of traditional routine activities of Hualien and have brought positive influence on well-balanced development between conservation and commerce. Whats more, some traditional goods, like customs and instruments, have also been widespread throughout Taiwan, even been introduced to other countries, like a symbol of Taiwan. Apart from people, Taroko national park is also a marvelous place you must have it a look in Hualien. Having undergone thousands of years erosion by rivers from central mountain range,Taroko canyon could be a unparalleled landscape all over the world. It is hard to imagine that how water could erode such a stiff granite mountain like Taroko. Some part of the canyon are up to hundreds of metres high that you may be wondering how incredible natural power is. Because of its reputation around the world, you can meet tourists from a various countries throughout a year. I remember that when I first time saw so magnificent a scene, I was totally shocked and speechless. It really broadened my outlook at that moment. Since I started to take photos, I could have an opportunity to get access to some place I have never been before. Even though ongoing urbanisation and development have broght conflicts between natural conservation and tourist industry. Aboriginal rights is alos a controversial issue. However, it is impossible to deny that moderate development has indeed promoted cultural communication and stimulated the progress of economy in eastern Taiwan. I truly hope that more and more people may know the place and preserve it as well -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 118.165.219.89 ※ 編輯: Chioushiyan 來自: 118.165.219.89 (09/26 15:16)
