My dear Blissers, We won’t have any meeting this Saturday on 4/29!!! Just take a rest and relax on Labors’ Day on 5/1. What will you do during 3-day holiday? Probably you can review Bliss April meetings, titled as “I-Speak “on 4/7 by Angel who helped us identify 4 communication types and application to life, “Useful Skills” on 4/15 by Barkley who inspired us to make best of our time and “Solving the Internal Conflicts” on 4/22 by Tanya, who showed us we were not alone indecisive or doubtful about our decisions, and further gave us tips to diminish “negative” thinking. What is there better going to come IN MAY? Keep updated to <Bliss Meeting Notice>!!!! Recap of “A Practice of Solving Internal Conflicts” by Tanya on 4/22, 2017 Host:Tanya Participant:Daniel Yang, Daniel Chen, Barkley, Ellen, Kevin Cheng, Michael, Shelly, May, and Anthony Meeting photo https://goo.gl/photos/6LZqLqmNsPJq1LpE8 New Blisser: Shelly https://goo.gl/photos/PQeBpZEYpVd7uhAQ9 Meeting started Our professional consultant, Tanya proceeded the meeting casually but pinpointedly as expected. Let’s Talk About Our Embarrassing Moment!! First of all, Daniel Young shared his experience that he booked a room for female when he took a business trip in Spain. That made him so embarrassed. Kevin Cheng said that he always feels embarrassed when someone misunderstands his Chinese name as girl’s name. We shared our stories and discussed a lot about how and what we thought of this situation together. Internal Conflicts at That Moment Since embarrassing situation often makes people regretful about the decision he / she made. When people think about he / she should not have done something that means people have internal conflict accordingly. The internal conflicts come with an “angel” and “devil” in people’s mind. People have to make a decision between the competition of their internal “angel” and “devil,” and that is how internal conflicts acts. Tips to Solve Internal Conflicts Furthermore, she discussed deeply regarding the tips to solve internal conflicts: 1. Face the issue. 2. Write it down. 3. Go through it and review it. 4. Deconstruction. 5. Analyze. Positive Thinking She also introduced the concept of “positive thinking” and asked attendees to share what kind of “positive thinking” we utilize when internal conflicts happen. Comprehensive VS. Fragmental Messages Finally, she shared a story about how fragmental when blind people described an elephant meant to them to show how important to put yourself into another one’s shoes and view the whole factors of the issue to prevent bias as wells as internal conflicts. Reflections: We really appreciate to learn the practice of solving internal conflicts by Tanya and all the participants’ inputs, through which we learn to minimize the number of mental struggles arising from opposing demands or impulses and be more positive about each decision. -- Bliss English Club since 1997 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bliss.taipei?fref=ts Website: http://blisstaipei520.pixnet.net/blog Picasa: https://plus.google.com/101726755048448689917/photos Bliss 2017 Calendar: 2:30~5:30 pm every Saturday No meeting date: 4/29,5/13,5/27,6/3,8/5,9/30,10/7,12/16,12/23,12/30 Outing: 6/24 (Q2), 9/23 (Q3) Year-End-Party (YEP): 12/9 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 220.137.193.121 ※ 文章網址: https://www.ptt.cc/bbs/EngTalk/M.1493133618.A.22D.html
