<Bliss Meeting Notice: “The Retirement Plan” by Patrick on Apr. 28, 2018>
My Dear Blissers,
Wheeling over life-survival, we spare no time thinking about “Retirement”! This coming Saturday, our informative beloved Blisser, Patrick, will lead us to confront “it” together.
Without further undo, here is what he says:
Day by day, year after year, most of people spend most of our precious golden years on our work, or, shall we call it life-sustaining activity?
Whether or not you like your job or career, ultimately one day you will face the dilemma of leaving your current living-support environment while weighing if you’ve got sufficient leftover substance or so-called pension to pursue the ideal better living quality, escaping any current status quo.
14:30 ~ 15:30: current work sharing
Share the current working status - evaluate whether you are having a wonderful, lovely, hateful, suffering, enduring…whatever status of current occupation.
- What do you think the best benefit of the current work is? And, what is the negative side?
- do you consider it’s already the best you can do so far in regards of your living quality now till the retirement support in the future?
- are you planning to retire in your current position in your company?
15:40 ~ 16:30: the discussion about retirement preparation
- What is your definition about retirement?
- Will you continue any work or program after your retirement?
- Will you set any condition of entering the retirement life? For example, age, saving, kid grown-up…etc.
- Estimate how much saving will be sufficient to support your retire life till end of life.
- Any financial tool or passive incomes from sideline occupation that can help you advance to the retirement goal earlier?
16:40 ~ 17:30: the wonderful and carefree state into retirement life

Date: Apr. 21, 2018
Host: Barkley
Topic: “5 Issues of Life Change: 10 Most Respectful and Loving People in Your Life”
Meeting Photo Link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/rgfELH3ixKdRB8ys2
Attendees: BK, Daniel Chen, Emma and Ellen
Barkley proceeded his meeting as his Agenda -
(1) QT (quiet time)
BK introduced firstly the benefit of fasting which can help people not only physically, mentally and also spiritually. He encourage us to use fasting as a mean/tool to purify our spirit and which this will help people on thinking of 5 important issues in our life.
(2). 5 important issues
1. Where are you?
2. Who told you that?
3. What have you done?
4. Why are you angry?
5. Where is your brother/sister?
(3) “The Parable of the Prodigal Son” (Luke: 15:11~32)
Then, he illustrated the idea from Jesus’ famous Parable in Bible that people are able to make right decisions at the diverged roads in life!
(4) 10 most respectful and loving people in your life
In the end of the meeting, BK invited all the Blissers to think of who you will invite to your funeral and what they will talk about you , and this reflect what is your real value as your daily interaction with your friends, family and colleagues reflects what value in your mind . What people think of you is something like a mirror reflects our personal value within.
(5) Sharing
All of us shared and discussed how we made our decision at life change! It was a fruitful and warmfelt meeting indeed. We are looking forward to the Guru BK’s next meeting soon!
Reference: “The Parable of the Lost Son”
Jesus continued: “There was a man who had two sons. The younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the estate.’ So he divided his property between them. “Not long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that whole country, and he began to be in need. So he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything. “When he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will set out and go back to my father and say to him:
Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’
So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet. Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have
a feast and celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.
“Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’ “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders.
Yet you never game me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’
“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’”
