Raise vs. Rise
Both words can mean "to move upwards"but they
are not interchangeable."
Rise Vi
(irregular: rising,rose,risen)
to get up;become elevated
It is never transtive.
ex: The sun rose.

S + V (without object)
Raise Vt
(regular:raising,raised,raised)
to make higher;cause to grow
It is normally transitive,the action is done to something or somebody.
ex:She raised her hand to answer the question.

S + V + O (with object) + C
