The following appeared in a memorandum from a dean at Omega University.
"Fifteen years ago, Omega University implemented a new procedure that
encouraged students to evaluate the teaching effectiveness of
all their professors. Since that time, Omega professors have begun to
assign higher grades in their classes, and overall student grade averages
at Omega have risen by thirty percent.
Potential employers apparently believe the grades at Omega are inflated;
this would explain why Omega graduates have not been as successful at
getting jobs as have graduates from nearby Alpha University.
To enable its graduates to secure better jobs,
Omega University should now terminate student evaluation of professors."

15年前,奧美加大學實施了一個新的規定,他們鼓勵學生評估授課教授的教學效能,
自從政策實施之後,奧美加大學的教授開始在他們的課堂上給予學生比以前更高的分數,
而所有學生的平均分數也整整提高了30%。
雇主懷疑奧美加大學學生的成績過高的態度正也解釋了為何奧美加大學的畢業生
比鄰近的阿爾法大學畢業生找到工作的成功率要低。
為了要使奧美加大學的畢業生能獲得更好的工作,
學校方面必須立即停止這個讓學生去評估老師的規定
