Topic 1
As long as people in a society are hungry or out of work or lack the basic
skills needed to survive, the use of public resources to support the arts
is inappropriate—and, perhaps, even cruel—when one considers all the
potential uses of such money.
Topic 2
Such nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and
psychic and paranormal pursuits play a vital role in society by satisfying
human needs that are not addressed by mainstream science.
Argument:
The following appeared in an editorial in a business magazine.
"Although the sales of Whirlwind video games have declined over the past
two years, a recent survey of video-game players suggests that this sales
trend is about to be reversed. The survey asked video-game players what
features they thought were most important in a video game. According to
the survey, players prefer games that provide lifelike graphics, which
require the most up-to-date computers. Whirlwind has just introduced several
such games with an extensive advertising campaign directed at people 10 to
25 years old, the age-group most likely to play video games. It follows,
then, that the sales of Whirlwind video games are likely to increase
dramatically in the next few months."
考前一天沒睡好，早起又拉肚子，瞬間冒了三個痘子～囧
考試前把所有準備資料又跑了三遍，總算把心情穩了下來。
兩個題目(I:Topic 2)都練習過，準備算是沒有白費。
