Wellerism (with podcast) http://ppt.cc/2nTm
英解
an expression of comparison comprising a usually well-known quotation
followed by a facetious sequel
trying to appear amusing and intelligent at a time when other people do
not think it is appropriate, and when it would be better to be serious
My father's favorite Wellerism is "'We'll have to rehearse that,' said
the undertaker as the coffin fell out of the car."
Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wellerism
"This week is beginning splendidly," said one who was to be hanged on Monday.
"Much noise and little wool," said the Devil when he sheared a pig.
"So I see," said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.
The Pickwick Papers
