The line graph shows the figures of gold sales in Dubai during the year
2002.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main
features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write report for a university lecturer describing the information
below. You should write a minimum of 150 words.
The line graph presented exhibits calculated sales of gold in millions of
dirhams in Dubai, the city in Mid-East, during the period of 12 months
in 2002.
Casting the glance at the diagram, we are able to saliently witness the
radical vicissitude during the designated period, 2002. At the outset of
the specified year, in January, the sales of gold were 200 million dirhams,
then demonstrating the incessantly rising trend till March, the figure
ascending steeply to the zenith, at 350 million dirhams.
Nevertheless, for the next four months, sales declined steadily, hitting
the trough, displaying the annually bottom 120 million dirhams in July.
In August, there was an abrupt bulge, whose sales almost doubled,
mounting up from 120 million dirhams to 210 million dirhams, yet a
pronounced precipitous dip ensued in September, back to the figure of
the nadir in July.
Afterwards, from September to October, the sales hiked again,
ascending from 120 to nearly 180 million dirhams. Queerly, sales for
gold in Dubai remained moderate from October through November,
and there was a trifling increase in December to 190 million dirhams.
To sum up, there is a striking fluctuation in the situation of turnover of
gold, and the largest number of sales of gold in Dubai appeared in the
anterior part of the year, 2002, then slumping in the following months
to the record low. It seems that the sales of gold have a stake in seasonal
demand in Dubai.
