Itron, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electrical Engineer, at its West Union, SC facility to participate in the design of new products in Itron's line of solid state electricity meters. The candidate will be responsible for all phases of embedded hardware design including technical analysis of product requirements, recommendation of design alternatives, functional specifications, schematic design, PCB layout, hardware debug, hardware verification testing and release to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience in the design of high volume, low cost circuits with the highest standards for quality and reliability. Major Responsibilities/Duties: - Trouble shooting and failure analysis of complex electronic circuitry - Design analog signal processing and digital interface circuitry with an emphasis on high accuracy and reliability in a harsh operating environment. - Op amp circuit design, filter design, communications, digital sampling theory, and digital circuit design utilizing microcontrollers and digital signal processors - Working knowledge of C programming is a plus - The ideal candidate will possess the skills to use software tools for simulation throughout the development process Qualifications Requirements for the Position: * Minimum 0 to 3 years product development experience is preferred * Must have a fundamental understanding of digital and analog circuit design and theories * Familiarity with advanced modeling, simulation and analysis tools * Excellent verbal and technical writing skills Experience: Entry level position so 0-3 years experience required. Education: Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering required. Travel: 5% or less CB1 Itron is an EOE AA Employer.
