這個 position 的老闆 Prof. Guan 人很好，研究成果也很豐富，目前是南洋理工大學 Division of Communication Engineering 的 head，有志出國看看的板友可以考慮，或是寄信向他詢問，我想他會很樂於回答的。 http://www.eee.ntu.edu.sg/AboutEEE/Career/Research/Pages/advert18feb2010.aspx Research Fellow / Postdoctoral Fellow (Project Title: 2-Dimensional Coding and Signal Processing for 10TB/in^2 Magnetic Recording) Project Title: 2-Dimensional Coding and Signal Processing for 10TB/in^2 Magnetic Recording Position Description: In this project, we focus on developing the encoder, detector and decoder algorithms for 2D ISI/ITI/Media noise channels encountered in BPMR/HAMR/TDMR media. We will first consider 4Tb/in^2 magnetic recording channel model, then 10Tb/in^2 channel. The 2-D codes to be investigated will include 2D-LDPC (low density parity check) codes matched to the 2D ISI trellis, dirty-paper 2D-RS (Reed Solomon) codes with binning, and self-synchronizing watermarking codes for correcting substitution, insertion and deletion errors. The 2D detector to be investigated will include Oversampled MMSE FDE (minimum-mean-square-error frequency-domain-equalizer) with soft output. This project will be conducted in collaboration with Dr Kui CAI and Dr Kheong Sann CHAN of the Data Storage Institute of Singapore. Annual salary in the range of SGD 55,000 to 80,000. Yearly bonus and increment depends on performance. Settling-in allowance available to overseas candidates.
