[請益] 黃金29篇最後一題 (The Cambrian Explosion) 疑問
第一題
為什麼significant 不能解釋為 numerous
我知道significant 絕對有 important的意思
但是當我看完第一段的內容後
(前略)by "significant" geologic and biological events, including the origin
of Earth about 4.6 billion years ago, the origin of life about 3.5 billion
years ago, the origin of eukaryotic life-forms (living things that have
cells with true nuclei) about 1.5 billion years ago, and the origin of animals about 0.6
billion years ago.
significant後 提到好多項目 所以我覺得用numerous才合理
因為單字題如果碰到不會的 不就應該是要根據文章脈絡去替換單字阿
就算我知道significant的意思 可是看到文章以後 就很想選 numerous耶
請問是我語感有問題嗎 XD

為什麼答案不是 一號選項 而是二號
選項一 是
6 billion years ago, late in Earth’s history
選項二 是
was characterized by the unusually fast evolution of many new life-forms.
段落二當中 沒有提到任何有關於 new life-forms 阿
這題也不算是infer題型
然後整段文意 我也覺得是在講說動物演化時間戰地球歷史一小部份而已
所以我覺得一號答案才是對得
誰可以教教我一下

我乾脆把第二段整個寫出來

可是我選2
因為他既然問說 哪個沒提到
文章裡面沒有提到 "take so long to develop" 阿？
為什麼我選2會錯 XD....
