Response (C) is a perfectly logical response the the question asked.
A person asks a 'timing' question regarding the date of purchase. Response
(C) would be a part-reply to working towards the final date determination.
Response (A) has more to do with where the car is presently parked. The 'yes'
part could be 'yes' anything...
Response (B) is nonsensical as it has nothing to do with with their
relationship, or with the car.
