[資訊] 看新聞學多益單字 日本國債瀕崩盤?! Japan hits 'critical p
一、日本經濟常被稱泡沫化，今天連日本官員也自己表示，日本國債已經到達緊繃的位置
了。二、內文:
Japan has hit a "critical point" where it risks losing investor confidence if
politicians fail to reach agreement on how to rein in the ballooning national
debt, a cabinet minister has warned.
"We face a dreadful dream that one day the long-term interest rate might
rise," Kaoru Yosano, the new minister for economic and fiscal policy, told
the Financial Times.
"So we have to be very careful [to] ensure the credibility of our economy and
the credibility of our government."
His stark comments highlight government determination to introduce a sweeping
reform of the tax system that would include a hike in the 5 per cent
consumption tax.
三、多益英檢文法重點:
1. hit(V):達到，critical(adj):緊急的，risk(V):危險、風險，politician(N):政治人
物，rein(V):勒住，ballooning(adj):漂浮的，cabinet minister(N):內閣閣員，
national debt:國債或稱state debt，dreadful(adj):可怕的，fiscal(adj):年度的，
Financial Times:金融時報，ensure(V):確定，credibility(N):信譽，stark(adj):直接
的，highlight(V):強調，determination(N):決心，sweeping(adj):大幅的，hike(N):上
升，consumption tax:消費稅。
2. hit(V):一般當作打，在新聞中常作為抵達或達到之意，hit the record(到達紀錄)
，hit the road(出發上路)，hit and run:棒球術語打帶跑，這裡指的是日本國債已經到
達相當critical(危急)的點，除了相當易脆外，更可能risk(喪失)投資人的信心。
3.risk(V、N):風險或承擔某種風險，at risk:處在風險中，如The disease puts the
children under 5 at risk.(這項疾病對五歲兒童有極大風險)，high risk:高風險。
4.第一段中指的內閣官員，就是第二段的經濟大臣與謝野馨(Kaoru Yosano)，並引用他的
話來補強第一段作者提出的觀點。最後一段更以直接到有點可怕的形容詞stark來形容官
員講的話，這裡提到reform of tax system(稅制改革)，動詞也可用overhaul來代替，當
然是要提高消費稅囉。
5.hit(V):打，抵達，我們用-it來認識其他單字，fit(V):適合、profit(N):獲利、
split(V):區分、submit(V):服從、admit(V):承認、emit(V):發出、commit(V):犯、
vomit(V):嘔吐、knit(V):織毛衣。
四、提醒準備多益考試的人，背單字不要硬背，因為容易忘，試著用其他方式例如相似字尾
或發音，自然認識新單字。
至於背文法的方法，看中國人寫的文法書如果不容易理解，那就找個英文句子來證明，
