一、 這是一篇內容很爆笑的對話與結果，不過是真實過程，因為一名歹徒闖入民
宅，結果主人回來，他嚇到躲在浴室，自己反而打電話報警向警方求救。
二、 內文:
After breaking into an Oregon residence last night, Timothy Chapek, 24,
barricaded himself in a bathroom after the owner unexpectedly arrived home.
Chapek was worried that Hilary Mackenzie might be armed (or that her barking
German Shepherds could prove problematic). So he called 911 seeking help. “I
just broke into a house and the owner came home,” Chapek told a police
operator. “You broke into a house?” the surprised operator responded. “I
think she’s got guns,” Chapek added.
三、多益英檢文法整理:
1.break into:闖入，residence(N):住宅，barricade(V):阻礙、躲在….裡，
unexpectedly(adv):無預警地，armed(adj):攜有武器，German Shepherd:德國狼犬，
prove(V):證明，problematic(adj):有問題的，麻煩的，operator(N):接線生，
respond(V):回應。
2. 講到break into(闖入)，一般除了thief(N):小偷外，還有burglar(N):破門而入的竊
賊，robber(N):搶匪，intruder(N): 侵入者 當然從文章不知道他是破門還是走門進去，
因此只能說他是thief。
3.operator(N):操作員或接線生、經營者，operation(N):任務，例如: The Daily
Calls, the country's third-largest mobile operator, is on a negotiation
process of purchasing other smaller companies in the country. (身為全國第三大
的行動電話公司：Daily Calls，正在進入購買其他小公司的談判過程。)
4. prove(V):證明
(1) Prove it.
(拿出證明!) (V+N)
(2) What he said proves (that) I am right.
(他所說的證明我是對的。) (V+that)
(3) The promotion proved a turning point in his career.
(這次工作的升遷對他職涯是轉戾點。) (V+N)
(4) Shares in the industry proved to be a poor inv
