[心得] Au Pair進大觀園- 有關家庭配對

當Au Pair把申請資料遞給台灣代辦之後，台灣代辦會代傳至美國機構。之後的時間到Au Pair去美國之前都稱為家庭配對期，通常在遞送資料後兩個禮拜到一個月，都會有家庭先以電子郵件聯絡，信件內容大概會像下面那樣（擷取至我的接待家庭Au Pair Letter）: Hello. We are the Lux family of Green Bay Wisconsin. We would like to provide you some information about our family and also to give you some information about what our expectations will be so that we can have a wonderful year or two with you Your Duties – This is a list of the responsibilities we would expect. It is a summary and not all-inclusive; others may be added later. At least, this will give you some idea of our expectations. ‧ Watch Kyra, Rylee, Hayden and Joey, to play with them, and once you have obtained your Wisconsin drivers license, take them to their scheduled activities such as school activities, doctor’s appointments, etc. ‧ Clean up after yourself – that means cleaning up your own room, cleaning up after making any food in the kitchen, not leaving dirty dishes in the sink or on the stove. (We do have a dishwasher machine where the dirty dishes can be placed into for cleaning). ‧ Keep the girls toys and books picked up and placed away neatly and orderly on a daily basis. The girls should do this, and you should supervisor their clean up. This includes their bedroom, playroom, and anywhere else they have been with you. ‧ Your schedule will be set up by Beth in advance and if you have plans for time off, Beth will work with you on this. ‧ Change and wash the sheets from the children’s beds on a weekly basis. ‧ Children’s wash – cleaned and put away in proper order. ‧ Children’s baths-- they do not do them daily, it’s an every other day and as needed. ‧ Cook the children’s meals when necessary. ‧ We have a woman that comes in and cleans the house twice weekly. She will also clean your room if you keep it neat. If it is messy, she will not clean it and you will be responsible for your own room. Au Pair可以先藉由接待家庭提供的資料及照片了解這個家庭，決定要去，或不去。喜歡這個接待家庭，可以藉由提問多了解，進而接待家庭會以電話連絡。如果不喜歡這個家庭，請＂婉轉＂拒絕。畢竟Au Pair與家庭是主雇關係，大部分的工作都是雇主挑人，除非Au Pair條件非常好，或者願意繼續等待其他家庭聯絡。與接待家庭連絡，可以詢問哪些問題：平常孩子的作息、工作內容、工作時段… 如果能和接待家庭目前的Au Pair連絡是最好不過的事了，可以藉由這個Au Pair眼裡去看這個接待家庭。但每個人想法不一樣，他覺得好的妳並不這麼覺得，他不能忍受的也許你覺得沒什麼，這個就是你需要斟酌的地方了。與接待家庭配對是一件非常刺激的事情，就像大學聯誼玩抽鑰匙遊戲，藉由一把鑰匙決定你之後的旅程快樂不快樂。你永遠不知道抽到的是哪一台車哪一個人。你的接待家庭也許會像我一樣，有三到四個小孩甚至更多！但幸運的是，我的接待家庭爸媽對待我像第五個小孩，讓我在異鄉的生活感受到一絲溫暖。也許你的接待家庭工作內容看起來非常的輕鬆簡單，但到了美國真正相處之後，卻發現接待家庭的態度冷淡的讓你覺得，你再怎麼努力都只是一個外人… 我都會建議我的女孩，如果決定參加這麼專案，對出國沒有時間上的考量，能夠盡量早提出申請就盡量提出，可以選擇的接待家庭時間也比較充裕，找一個你最喜歡的，或者家庭小孩人數最少的！Au Pair的工作是照管小孩，小孩人數決定你之後的工作量，質我們沒辦法抓，起碼量我們可以控制。我現在在惠安國際教育中心工作,擔任遊學留學諮詢顧問,以及Au Pair專案負責我會秉持著話很多甚至是雞婆到一個住隔壁的大嬸，對待每一個因為看了我的文章而想起自己夢想的朋友,提供我自己的經驗去幫助大家! 謝謝大家~ 對Au Pair專案有興趣的朋友,可以加我MSN: cute0611i@hotmail.com 我的Au Pair豪門保母日記: http://www.wretch.cc/blog/cute0611i&category_id=11094465 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 60.248.174.98
