[情報] 南加大USC生醫工程教授coffee chat 10/19已刪文
未來打算深造生醫工程領域的朋友們, 別錯過. 南加大工學院生醫工程所教授, Prof.
Gerald Loeb, 將於10月中旬來台, 將特地抽空透過輕鬆下午茶方式, 就他的專業領域,
與南加大工學院及生醫工程所, 與有興趣的同學們聊聊, 並分享他個人的專業指點.
Prof. Loeb 自 Johns Hopkins 取得 MD 學位, 運用其醫學專長於醫療設備的設計與開發,
主要針對神經義肢. Prof. Loeb 是人工電子耳開發者之一. 目前於生醫工程研究所及
南加大藥學院皆有開課, 其中在藥學院法規科學(Regulatory Science) 開設的課程, 被
視為後續職場發展所需的重要學習, 是絕大多數生醫工程學生選修的一門課. 教授歡迎對
於他所涉及的研究與教學內容有興趣的同學參加. (下方請見教授提供的活動大致內容)

The University of Southern California is strategically positioned at the
heart of the medical device and diagnostic industry, which has the largest
concentration in the world in Los Angeles and Orange County. The research and
education activities of our Viterbi School of Engineering and the Regulatory
Science Program in the School of Pharmacy are geared to produce graduates who
can assume leadership positions in this rapidly growing and uniquely
challenging field. I will illustrate this through the research projects and
products from my Medical Device Development Facility in the USC Department of
Biomedical Engineering, which include injectable neuromuscular stimulators,
minimally invasive cardiac pacemakers and biomimetic tactile sensors. These
are now in various stages of technology transfer to industry and clinical
trials in the US and China. Also, I will discuss USC Viterbi School of
Engineering and the graduate programs.
