各位大大好，小弟本人目前正準備申請 2022 Fall 運籌學/管理科學/資料科學的program ，目標是希望能在畢業後到他校讀博（希望能在GaTech的ML或OR博士），在未來擔任教職。選校自己先選出了幾間自己嚮往的學校，不過因為對自己的競爭力不甚清楚，想請教諸位留學前輩寶貴的意見，希望在申請上能蒙獲幫助～［ Background ] BEng in HKU Engineering Science (資料科學）（大一完從CS轉過去） GPA： - Overall ： 3.74/4.3 - Last 2 years：3.74/4.3 ［ Test Scores ] - GRE：無（因此只有申請不需要GRE的program) - TOEFL：107（R: 29/L: 28/S: 24/ W: 26）［ Publication Experiences ] - None ［ Research Experiences ] - Database 專題*1 (ongoing) - 計量經濟學暑期專題*1（w/ UCL） - 運籌學專題*1（w/ Waterloo） - 心理學專題*1 ［ Working Experiences ] - Globalink Research Internship @ UWaterloo（2021.06 - present） - summer intern @ 中研院（3 months） - UCL Laidlaw Scholars (3months） - RA @ 港大決策心理學lab (1 year) ［ Extracurricular ] - 台灣學生會副會長 - 學生媒體社長 - 心理健康社團公關［ Award ] - Laidlaw Research Scholarship - 校內 Undergraduate Research Fellowship - NCKU International Student Summer Scholarship - President Scholar @HKU - 工學院校友會獎學金［ LoR ] - HKU 專題教授*2 (CMU & Purdue CS) - UWaterloo 教授 (UWaterloo OR) ［選校］ — 夢幻 — Oxford MSc (Research) in EngSc/Math Stanford MS in Management Science MIT MS in OR Berkeley PhD in IEOR — 衝刺 — UToronto Master of Applied Science CMU PhD in Advanced Infrastructure Systems Michigan Master in IEOR Imperial College London MRes AI and ML TUM MSc in Math in OR — 保底 — UWaterloo Master of Applied Science 我自己的研究興趣是smart transportation, intelligent transportation system這類的（從今年六月就做了這個分析紐約計程車），所以像CMU的program就是在CivE底下的；另外，有些會選擇PhD單純因為沒有研究型碩士（其學校視他們的碩士為terminal degree )，不然我覺得自己可能資歷不夠直博。自己申請的大部分都是工院下的Operations Rese arch/ Management Science，不過若沒有則選擇CS底下的ML。自己喜歡運用各種optimiza tion model和機器學習模型於smart mobility，但對開發新模型架構興趣比較沒有，所以就沒有選太多CS的program。以上選校主要是參考本版爬文與教授的建議，希望各位前輩可以對我選校或選program不吝指教，讓我這個好高騖遠仔能夠在申請上更腳踏實地一些，甘蝦～ P.S. 手機排版可能較亂抱歉 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc), 來自: 116.92.226.230 (香港) ※ 文章網址: https://www.ptt.cc/bbs/studyabroad/M.1636609834.A.691.html
