[閒聊] Warwick來信通知TOEFL和簽證問題
這是University of Warwick針對ETS最近發佈的變更的公告，
（看來W校效率算滿好的XD）
提供給板友參考。
原文如下：
Dear XXX
I am writing with an update on UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) – formerly UK
Border Agency (UKBA) - and English Language Tests offered by ETS.
ETS announced on Thursday 17 April that it has taken the decision not to renew
its licence as a provider of Secure English Language Tests (SELT). The Home
Office subsequently confirmed that it will no longer accept any ETS tests –
including TOEFL – as evidence of English Language competency when considering
Tier 4 Visa applications.
Please note, therefore, that if you require a Tier 4 visa to enter the UK and
begin your degree programme but have only a TOEFL certificate as evidence of
your English Language competency, the UKVI will not issue the Visa to you. As
such, the University of Warwick will not be able to issue a Confirmation of
Acceptance of Studies (CAS) to any student in this situation.
If you do require a Tier 4 visa and have only a TOEFL certificate as evidence
of your English Language Competency, you will need to take an additional
English Language test (please see http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/
apply/english/englishlanguagealternative for up to date information on
acceptable tests), and notify us of this. Provided all other conditions of your
offer have been met, this will enable us to issue you a CAS and you will be
able to apply for your Visa.
If you would like further advice on your English Language qualifications, and
whether they will be accepted by UKVI, please contact us by reply.

今天收到Imperial的信，
看起來UKVI還沒回覆「以TOEFL成績拿到offer、但還未申請簽證的學生」該怎麼辦，
至於4月6日前申辦簽證的學生是確定沒問題，但有可能需要額外面試。
相關信件內容節錄如下：
if you have not yet taken an English language test, and you were intending on
taking the TOEFL iBT test in order to meet the English language condition of
your offer, please note that with effect from 6th April 2014 ETS are no longer
offering testing and therefore, you should make immediate arrangements to take
another test we accept.
If you require a Tier 4 Visa to come and study here and you have already taken
a TOEFL iBT test, we have received confirmation that applicants who have made
an overseas visa application using an ETS certificate dated 5 April 2014 or
earlier, will have their application processed in the usual way, and may be
required to attend an interview. Unfortunately, The Home Office is unable as
yet to provide clarification on applicants who have an offer (based on ETS
scores), but who have not yet submitted their visa application.

還沒跑簽證流程的話還是先考雅思吧！
