[文法] 有關should的用法

今天我看到了一題文法題，題目如下:
The boy turned around quickly lest the girl he liked ____ see him blush.
A) should B) would C) might D) could
我自己直覺是選(A)，而解答也是(A)
但有板上強者能用文法觀念來解釋這一題的選項嗎?
