[請益] 這兩個句字中的動詞時態的形式是否有問 …
在一本原文的文法書中看到的 是一封信的內文
"I'm writting these words in English bla bla bla ..." These were the words
I had written in my diary last month.
第二句我覺得用were怪怪的 如果改寫成
These are the words I wrote in my diary last month. 我個人感覺比較對
但書中的正解是前者的寫法 哪一種比較對呢?
第二句是
When I arrived at the college, everyone seemed concerned about me.
I found that the majority of people here are friendly. 這是書的寫法
但我覺得既然用found 那麼後面are是不是要改成were才對呢?
就變成 I found that the majority of people here were friendly.
以第一人稱描述過去的事實或狀態到現在依然事實
這時候要用過去式還是現在式 常常讓我很困惑
雖然不至影響對句子意思的理解
但輪到自己要寫的時候卻常有一種不確定感 擔心自己會寫錯

問題的出處是 Jay Maurer的 Focus on Grammar/An AVANCED Course fo Reference
and Practice的Unit 1後面的練習在Page15..
我的第一個問題就是該文章開頭
第一段就是用整個用引號框起來
"I'am writting these words in English because I need the pratice.At
this moment I am on a airplane over the Pacific Ocean,..(略)...."
第二段就說
These were the words I had written in my diary on the airplane last
month. When I arrived at John F. Kennedy Airport, I was timid and nervous.
...(略)....
那我的問題就是第二段的第一句提到上一段是
"這些是我上個月在飛機上所寫在日記裡的文字"
我對它的動詞時態有些困惑
又譬如說像這樣的一句話:"Yes, we can."是歐巴馬的競選口號。
"Yes,we can."is the eletion slogan of Obama. 還是
"Yes,we can."was the eletion slogan of Obama.呢?
