How to rebuild prestige of justice
Recently, the news about justice have been reported continuously, which
arose nationwide concern and attention. For example,three judges of Taipei
High Court as well as a prosecutor allegedly involved in takeing bribes fro
m a defendant to exchange for being not guilty .A soldier sentenced of dea-
th for sexual abuse and have executed death penalty several years ago have
been clarified innocence, Both of which are just small pieces of iceberg,the
amendment of judicial reform can't be overlooked any more. In my opinions,it
can review and reform respectively from internal part such as Judge Law as w-
ell asperfunctory judicial examination and outside supervision like establi-
shment of anti-corruption agency and the jury system.
First of all, it is necessary to legislate Judge Law to eliminate unqualified
judges. For instance, the judges having three major demerits of misconducts
should be dismissed immediately due to the fact that we can't convince and t-
tust the sentences ruled by inappropriate judges.In addition, we even can't to-
lerate such kind of publish servants reserve their positions and benefits.Con-
sequently, I think it is reasonable to regulate system to eliminate them.
Besides, the present judicial examination too emphasized grades instead of
moral. Undoubtedly, such inclination resulted in judicial scandals such as co-
rruptions and extramarital relationship, which extremely impaired people's co-
nfidence of Justice.Therefore, moral examination should be taken into fuller
consideration, not only depending on passing perfunctory examination. On the
other hand, it also needs to educate repeatedly and enhance the moral education
to present judges.
Furthermore, in fact of that individuals can participate in the most of judi-
cial cases expect for such special cases as sexual abuses and harassments.Becau
se of work ,none of us to do so,but it didn't mean we don't care about our co-
untry. Eventually, the majority of us acquired information form news garbled from
mess media,which attributed misunderstandings of opinions of sentences.Theref-
ore government should advocate the jury system,forcing qualified individuals
, experts and public organizations chosen by computer to participate in the in
terrogation. By doing so, people can more understand the progress of judicial cas-
es and are more confident of Justice.
Last but not the least, the government should establish anti-corruption age-
ncy reporting to president directly.The judges who took bribes should be inve-
stigated comprehensively and if they are considered to be guilty,they should be
punished severe penalty ,fined of a large amount of money.According to charact-
eristic of this agency,its investigation will progress more effectively and i-
ndependently.
To sum up, all reform should be step one by one, it is impossible to reach
the goal in one step.Absolutely, there is no panacea for judicial reform.As
long as authorities concerned review those points mentioned above, I belie-
ve greatly the judicial prestige can be restored in the futureand people
will take on a new look of justice.
