[文法] 馬克‧佐伯格在臉書中的一段話
大家好，想請教一下
在馬克‧佐伯格臉書看到這樣一段話，內容是他歡迎小米前副總裁Hugo Barra加入團隊

bringing innovative devices to millions of people. （後略）
想問的是第二段。
1.這句...starting when he helped develop the Android operating system...，我的
理解是，可想成...which starts when he helped...的省略，看成補充的插入語。我把
" I've known Hugo for a long time "看成是「一件事」，因此後面用starts，不知是
否正確？
2.如果上面那是插入語可刪除的話，就會變成：I've known Hugo for a long time to
the last few years he's worked at Xiaomi in Beijing bringing innovative
devices to millions of people.
問題是"I've known Hugo for a long time"感覺已經完整了，後面還能直接接"to the
last few years he's worked...."而不加任何標點或連接詞嗎？這句子有沒有問題呢？

因為如果是I've known Hugo for a long time, which starts（我不確定start的時態）
when he...
這個逗點後which不就代指前面一整句，也就是所謂的補述用法？還是我的理解有誤？

原來確實有這種用法：
starting (from) now / tomorrow / next week etc
例句：
You have two hours to complete the test, starting now. （朗文）
Starting next week, all employees will be required to wear ID tags.
（韋氏 Advanced Learner's English Dictionary, online,）
特別是韋氏那個句子，如果不用上述的句型並當成慣用語來看，而想從副詞子句減化成
分詞構句來解，還真不知道要怎麼改寫...。
另外，劍橋詞典的例句是：
Give me your answers one by one, starting with Lucy.
我把它理解成前面句型的變形，也就是原本是「starting 時間」，
這句則是「starting 人（或順序）」。
