[請益] 刑法第185-4條(肇事逃逸罪)的英譯
各位朋友先進專家們您好，
刑法第185-4條：
駕駛動力交通工具肇事，致人死傷而逃逸者，處一年以上七年以下有期徒刑。
在法務部全國法規資料庫入口網站的英譯為：
A person who flees after the motor vehicle he drives has caused an accident
resulting in death or injury of another shall be sentenced to imprisonment
for not less than one year but less than seven years.
這英譯令我困惑： cause 的主詞可以是 vehicle 而不是 person 嗎？
請教：上列英譯算是 valid English 嗎？有更精準的英譯嗎？
我個人嘗試的英譯是如下：
A person who flees after having caused an accident resulting in death or
injury of another when driving a motor vehicle shall be sentenced to
imprisonment for not less than one year but less than seven years.
