原文：
For example, a boy of four asked his aunt one Sunday to tell him why God was
so fond of three-penny bits. Asked why he thought God had this particular
liking, he explained by saying that he noticed that on Sunday morning people
ask for a three-penny bit "instead of" three pennies, and that as they take
it to church he supposed that they gave it to God.

舉例來說，一個四歲男孩在某個週日詢問姑姑，為什麼上帝這麼喜歡三便士硬幣。姑姑反
問他為什麼會覺得上帝喜歡三便士硬幣，男孩解釋說，他注意到星期天早上，人們會要一
個「三便士硬幣」，而不是三便士，而且會把硬幣帶到教堂，因此小男孩猜想硬幣是要奉
獻給上帝。
