I have played PC games for a long time. I have to say plying games
of their original version (I meant English version here) is quite
helping in learning words in certain fields. For example, my favorite
game, Age of empires, contains lots of words concerning siege weapons,
such as trebuchets or onagers. When I played DS, a role play game, I
had to know what a "gauntlet" or a "galdius" is so I could possibly
continue the game. Anyway, all the joy aside, I think playing games
is really a good way to learn words that sound more sophisticated.
