[Intr] Hi, I'm Esme.
It's nice to have such a place to "practice" one's written English.
My name is Esme, but sometimes I use "I-Ling,"
which is the romanization of my Chinese name.
I'm a graduate student of GITIS, FJU now.
I am working on my thesis,
and hopefully it will be done by the end of April.
My major in college is English and literature,
and in graduate school I'm major in translation,
mainly from English into Chinese and partly the reverse.
I like many things, so it's not so easy to name every one of them.
But generally speaking I love literature, fine art and pop art.
I love to sing, and I consider myself one singer above average.
And how I LOVE musicals!!
If anyone of you loves them too and happens to be in NY City,
I suggest that you go and see "The Light in the Piazza."
I think it's now playing at Lincoln Center.
Guess who the composer is?
It's Adam Guettel, grandson of Richard Rodgers!
I'd like to see it if I were in NY City!
