For some reason, I have always associated with frozen meals with being alone and lonliness. Probably because you normally only have them if you are by yourself, and do not have the time or energy to cook yourself proper food. A square cardboard box, with a colorful picture on the outside. The picture looks so pretty and tasty that you could almost begin to imagine the contents of the box to be hot, juicy and tasty. You quickly open the slightly frosted box, a plastic container falls out, with a thin transparent film on top. You stare at it for a few seconds. You quickly look at the cardboard box again, the picture with the juicy and tasty meal, and you look back at the plastic container and its contents. Upon careful inspection, you finally recognize that it is the right meal, well, sort of. You can vaguely see some green dots that are no doubt the juicy, round and larger-than life green beans shown on the picture. The frozen red blob no doubt represents the steaming pasta sauce on the box. No worries. You try to comfort yourself. It just needs heating up, and then it might look more like the picture. You turn to the back of the cardboard box, and carefully follow the instructions: puncture the plastic film twice with a fork. Set microwave on HIGH and heat for 4 minutes. Stand for 2 minutes before serving. 'Ding'. You eagarly take out the now heated container. The red blob had turned into running red water, with some tired looking green things floating in it. There is steam alright, but it still looks nothing like the picture. Disappointed, you throw the cardboard box away, and begin to digest the frozen meal that is in front of you, alone. And you swear to never eat frozen meals again... -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 222.152.99.77
