[Talk] What do you think about this fable?
Teacher told us a little fable and I think it's interesting.
The story is:
There's a man selling straw hats.
One day he took a nap under a big tree. He woke up and found all his
straw hats were gone. Then he looked up and found monkeys on the tree,
each of them had a straw hat. He's eager to get his hats back so he raised
his hand and yelled at monkeys. However, monkeys didn't know what he was
talking about, and all they did is to imitated the man's movement--
raised their hands and yelled. The man noticed this and put his hand
on his hat, then threw it down the road. The monkeys did so.
The man is happy to get all his hats back.
He went home and told the story to his grandson.
Few years ago, his grandson is also selling straw hats and walking
to the same tree for a nap. Then he got in the same condition as
his grandfather. But his grandpa's words is always in his mind.
He put his hand on the hat and threw it to the ground. However,
all the monkeys are just sitting there and watching.
At this time the monkey king came out and took the hat thrown on the
ground and said......
There's the story my tacher show us, and she told us to think about
two things:
one is : What did the monkey king say to the grandson?
the other is :What's moral behind this story?
I think the first answer may be something like: Don't play the same
old tricks.
The second answer may be: Learning is like rowing upstream, not to
advance is to drop back.(Because the grandson just follwed his
grandfather's steps. )
And that's the short story I share to you all.
I'd like to know what do you think about this story.
welcome to give me some feedback!
