I would like to share my experience, too.
The name now I heard, no matter what there are my colleages, friends, etc.
Plenty of Taiwanese like to use word they love, just a article for Name.
Oscar, King, Queen, became very common name. Table, Tennis, maybe you will
also find that kinds of names in your surrounding.
In my exerpiecne, there should be the relative rule and culture, to choose names
from father or family in Western and Eastern societies. However, Taiwanese in this
generation, still not many partents realize to choose good English names for their
children are very important in the society.
So it become we choose a name by our own. Name becomes a signal to present himself
or herself
Next time, why don't you to ask the English name from your family ?
