i watched a movie this weekend; whatever movie it was, but some words caught my eyes. that was a woman said, "i was almost twenty-ten..." i just thought that meant she was almost thirty, but so many things came to my mind at the same time. the word "twenty-ten" must be regarded as bad grammar for the taiwan students of the straitlaced english education. as the native chinese speaker, young generation really love to create new usage of a word. i think other language speakers are the same. sometimes i thought i may be able to coin a special usage of some words in english, as long as they're funny and have deep meanings, native english speakers may accept the idea. however, my classmates just laughed and said nothing; but for internet friends who studied english hard in high school, they said, "bad grammar" then i could only said to myself, "dead education" sorry i can't remember any examples of the coined words if oneday i recall anyone, i would like to share with you -- i may be wrong in selecting words, and thank you for correcting negative responses are acceptable, but positive ones are more helpful to all of us. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.166.108.2
