Credit and righteousness are the fundamentals of establishing an enterprise Credit, which means how much reliability other people feel for one when making a promise to or having some businesses with others, is very important. We have been accumulating our credit little by little since we were in teens. Righteousness, which means the strong insistance in doing proper and legitimate things, is a virtue of living in the world. I believe that credit and righteousness are the fundamentals of establishing an enterprise; because a person with little credit will never do something that can be believed by others, and a person with little righteousness never tries to do unprofitable but virtuous things for others. Credit is what really counts when trying to associate with some comrades for the same goals and work together. If a person is off little credit, it means that he is lacking in the perseverance of accomplishing something. He meets some difficulties when doing it, but he doesn't try to find out some ways to overcome them but only want to give up. He is incompetent and short of many kinds of abilities when confronted with things. Besides, we can say that he is a foolish person who usually acts out of blind impulse and doesn't want to spend any time on planing for and thinking about them. Moreoever, he may have conceived a plan for ensnaring you, or wants to betray you to your enemies. Can this kind of abominable ones associate many comrades to beneficial deeds or welcomed by others? Thus, Confucius said that "We don't know what a person can do if he has no credit. ". Those people without righteousness are even more despicable. They are malignant people in our society and always do things which are averse to moralities. Mencius also said, "Life, which is what I want; righteousness, which is also waht I want. If I am unable to obtain both, I would forsake my life but select righteousness". There was a good example in Chinese history about what is creit and righteousness. Tseng-Tzu, whose discourses are compiled into a renowned book Tseng-Tzu, also called Hsaio-Ching, could be called a sage who was very successful. He alway did things with much credit and righteousness. One day, when his wife was going to the market, their child also wanted to go. She tried to coax the child out of going there. She said, "Don't worry. Mother will com back very soon. At that time I will cook a pig for you." When Tseng-Tzu saw her wife coming back from the market, he prepared to kill the pig. His wife tried stopped to stop him to do that. One needs to keep his promise, even to a child. Then he really killed the pig for cooking. What a great example of trusworthiness! He also always did things according to the righteousness, and that was what led to his fame in history and final success. In conclusion, a person with credit and righteousness is not noly reliable bur also virtuous. If we do things according to them, we'll be welcomed by others, easier to have more true friends. Those famous people who build good enterprises always obey these two principles. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.116.8.98
