Re: [Talk] What kind of woman are you?
The myth of Mr/Ms Right reminds me a story about Plato. In the story, Plato asked his students to pick the best wheat they could find in the field. And they all came back empty-handed. The rest of the story is well-known. The point I want to make here is that, how you define your Mr/Ms Right is the key of how likely you will meet him/her. And to complicate this matter further, this definition changes over time. At 20, we did not know what we needed/wanted. At 30, we thought we knew what we needed. And at
40?
Even if we know what we need now, would a 70% Mr/Ms Right satisfy you? or a 90% one? It turns out to be the question of the Plato story. People are sophisticated. We even could not say with complete certainty that we know ourselves fully, how confident could you say this boy/girl you met for a few months is your Mr/Ms Right?
The romantic theory of a perfect match is fascinating. Unfortunately, the harsh and bitter reality, like what we discovered when we were young that we are merely yet another normal person in the world, may reveal otherwise. The truth is tantalizing. I'm grateful that hope is still out there to alleviate the pain. However it's not the cure.
