Re: [Intr] HI!
yep i know what you mean
i grew up in jersey and left when i was 13 to move here to taiwan
and the whole time i was just missing new jersey and wishing i could go back
maybe it's an age thing. i never really embraced taiwan until i was in college
(i went to college in california). and that's when i'd come back to taiwan
for winter vacation, summer vacation.
try to see the best of both places. you'll have chances to visit taiwan during
summer and winter right? queens should be somewhat like taipei i think? i'm
not too sure.
i loved the suburbs of new jersey. the huge supermarkets. the driving. i miss
california. the burgers, the tacos. but in taiwan, i have lu rou fan, 7-11 at
3am.
i'm sure in time you will learn to appreciate both cultures. for now, just
hang in there. know that people have been in your situation before regarding
a move to a different country, and we've all gotten out of that problem! find
some of the good qualities in queens and start from there :)
what schools are you planning on applying to? psych and business. that's a
very good combo. your sister's pretty smart. i never actually thought of that.
but that'd be pretty hard to double major.
my advice would have been: apply undecided to some schools. college is a place
to learn and discover. if you branch out into different fields, you might find
that you enjoy something entirely different. your parents let you make your
own decisions which is GREAT! so they probably won't have much of a problem
if you tell them this is what you want to do.
it's much more difficult if your parents force you into selecting something
you ultimately don't enjoy.
these are just some of my experiences that i thought i'd share with you :)
