※ 引述《lucy0415 (breeze)》之銘言: : as title : i want to learn a second foreign language : could you please give me some advice? : I show you the language that i want to learn Well, it depends on your college major and future plan. : 1. Spanish If you are keen to studying in the US, then I recommend you learn some basic Spanish. I suggest so because hispanic population in America is thriving. Of course I know that US is English-speaking, but I just thought that perhaps you might communicate more smoothly if you possess basic Spanish skill. And yet there is a second possible reason for you to learn Spainish. That would be the thriving of Spanish-speaking country like Mexico. : 2. French As far as I know, English "borrow" pretty much vocabulary from French words. So you may want to minor French class if you are an English major. But this is just my personal opinion. I've also heard that polics majors or diplomacy majors have a peculiar liking for learning French. Honestly, I know little about French. Yet I have to say that I don't feel quite comfortable with French pronounciation, though many think it beautiful. But at least you have to agree that it's really difficult to pronounce French words. You probably should ask more people for second or third opinion. : 3. German I personally like the German language very much, because I consider it an accurate language. German is common used in Europe, especially the easten part. Since EU is now one of the most dominant economic organization, you may want to master in German as a key to the European countries. On the other hand, I've heard that studying law or education in German will be a good idea. However, I've been to Germany, and I can tell that most German speaks good English. So please take this point into consideration. : i want to learn more languages to help me in the future : so i wanna know some details of these languages The above is just what I thought. If you are interested in further and professional detail. I strongly suggest you consult the WIKIPEDIA web site. Choose English version and you'll learn more, trust me! : and if you want to introduce some other languages : welcome~i'm glad to hear your advise! Russian is widely used, too. But unfortunately it is also hard to learn. Just do some research on your own. : i hope that i don't post it in the wrong board : and thx for those who answer my question -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 125.229.7.238
