: : recently, i tune in ICRT in the morning as a routine.
: : i am bit of discouraged because i had diffculty figuring out what the
: : speaker says. i only pass the mid-high GEPT exam so i found the
: : ICRE news challenging. they reported the news at a fast pace. besides,
: : i am not used to the British acent. Moreover, the international news include
: : a larges number of terms, such as the name of the nation and politicians.
: : i think there is still a lot of improvement for my English.
: I'm a big fan of BBC global news too!
: BBC pronunciation (or accent) is a refined British accent, and it may be the
: easiest one against a diversity of accents in Britain.
: If you keep abreast of global news day after day, instead of "cutting in"
: at random, then those specialized terms would be no problem because they
: will have been repeated so many times before you come to realize them.
: For example, "bailout" is a buzzword. It has come up everyday in the news
: since it was debuted two weeks ago, when the Fed nationalized AIG.
: So, just listen to it everyday and don't stop!
: Hope this helps.
thank you for your advice. I can't agree you more.
there is a saying goes, where there is a will, there is a way.
i just want to put emphasis on listening.
i still remember how depressing it was when listening to studio classroom in
high school. to tell the truth, i always fell in sleep. i have to broadcast it
again and again. somehow, i overcome the barrier in a period of time.
all you have to do is keep practicing. practice make perfection.
