You have a point, but there are a few things that I don't agree with you. It's true that we shouldn't blame God for every bad thing that happens to us, because for most of the time, we humans are responsible for all the problems. Just look at the countless species that have gone extinct so rapidly since the industrialization. Even today, we are still cutting down forests and polluting all aspects of the environment with virtually no self-control. And to make it worse, every once in a while some crazy person will lead a group of equally crazy people and start a war, in which innocent lives are lost or brutally abused. However, the flaws of men cannot be the proof that God is gentle or that everything in the Bible is true. I am not trying to say that there is no God or that the Bible is not credible. What I really want to argue is that I believe the stories in the Bible are for spiritual enlightenment. There are virtues such as faith, love, forgiveness and other things that we can learn from the stories, and I think that's what's most important about the Bible. Unfortunately, some extremists would go too far and discriminate or even hate other religions that do not agree with the Bible's explanation of how the world is created. In the old times, even the Church would wage war against other cultures and faiths, and the results were usually covered with bodies and blood. Even today, there are some that claim they embrace love, but act violently towards homosexuals or people with different beliefs. I often feel sorry for those who think they are protecting the communities but they actually are destroying the ideas they worship with their own hands. And this kind of irony only happens because those people are missing the important point that the Bible is meant to convey. I believe that the Bible is about claiming to be the only truth of how worlds originate, but it's about helping the readers to become better individuals. I mean, is the Bible really about a blueprint of how Earth is created in 7 days or women are made from men's ribs? Or is the Book about letting go of our greed and hatred, so that we can spend time on the real important things such as living in peace and caring for others? I don't have a conclusion because no matter how much I say, those words will only be my opinion. Same goes for anyone who is trying to prove God's existence or to argue that the Bible is false, because there are too many things that both sides cannot explain. But just to give some of you a little laughs, I'll share the videos of comedian Lewis Black as he approached the issue of religion. http://www.videosift.com/video/lewis-black-takes-on-religion http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGrlWOhtj3g
