First of all, what kind of position are you dreaming of? If you are only talking about working in the similar position as you did in local bank(corporate or consumer banking), then You do not need to acquire a good command of eng language. The true is you dont need to do anything at all cus you will deal with the same conditions as u did in the local bank. But if you are dreaming of working in Investment banking, then i dare say you are far away from your dream. Three requirements for you to take into consideration when you attempt to land yourself in that shoe. To begin with, u should know the dept structure and working description of each position. For instance, working in selling side at IB. Then you should get yourself to pass CFA level 3 if it is not too late. If you've got related internship or simliar background before, then it will definitely give you extra credit. In addition, you need to have a solid, strong networking system, which means you or your family must be rich and befriend lots of "very impotant people". Cus IB needs client bases. If employees themselves can bring more clients to the company, then IB will absolutely consider you a perfect candidate for that job. Third, last but not least important, MBA from top 10 schools and being ABC(if not, you still need to speak as native did in this case) It is tough, i know, but it is also the reality. One more thing, long working hours is absolutely a feature in this dept. If you really wanna work for that duty, you need well-prepared before jumping into that hole. Suggestion: if you are not the snub, then pls do not sell your soul to the devil. Being ordinary is what life is all about.
